All my friends they been struggling
And all my brothers, they been wading in
Waiting on that day, you said you’d move away
It’s been three years since you wrote us off and waved
You fled down south, off Route 4
Tween the river and your cloves
Cincinnati where the old souls go
O Miss Caroline, what you done with all my friends
They been gone for some time
O Miss Caroline, you’re always welcome round here
but never on time
You been drinking all the best cheap wine
You done a number on us again Caroline
All my mothers, you know I’ve had a few
They been a whisperin, cause they all disapprove
And all my fathers, they been shakin their heads
They can’t believe this crazy shit, been coming out your bed
Not sure where you buy your magic
Maybe at the company store
We’re all praying for a Savior to come and smash it on the floor
Early Strand of Oaks isn't on par with the later albums, but it's still very good. Low-key acoustic album with lots of feelings without all of the bullshit. Jakob Helms
The fantastic indie folk songs on the latest from Gold Dust are slathered in gallons of echo, making them feel titanic and 200 feet tall. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 6, 2022
Inspired by John Carpenter’s 1974 film “Dark Star,” the beautifully moody songs on this LP present a voyage into the unknown. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 21, 2021
Released in 2001, “The Convincer” is a gentle gem in the Nick Lowe catalog; an anniversary edition provides opportunity for rediscovery. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 20, 2021
Well... Like some people here, I never really liked that song! However, this is *so* much better than the original, for all the reasons already listed by deluded_marxist! The depth of feelings here, especially from the vocals but also the slow music, really is on a whole other level! Thanks to Tara Tantrum for taking me here! Highly recommended!!! bmurator
